How to use this guide

Use this guide to learn every available RETUOR feature. Select a topic from the table of contents, follow its navigation path, and complete the instructions in order.

RETUOR changes what it shows according to the signed-in account, membership, ownership, content visibility, and whether an activity has started. If a button mentioned here is missing, first check those conditions.

App map and common controls

The five bottom destinations are Home, Explore, the center Create/Find control, Community, and Profile.

Common patterns:

Part 1 — Account setup and first use

1. Create an account

Purpose: Create a RETUOR rider identity.

Instructions: From Login, tap Create an account. Enter first name, last name, a unique username, email address, password, and password confirmation. Tap the eye control if you need to verify the password. Open the Terms of Service link before accepting. Tap Create Account, then confirm the account from the email RETUOR sends and return to Login.

Important: All fields are required. Email and username must be valid and available. The password must contain at least eight characters and both password fields must match.

2. Sign in

Instructions: Enter the email address or username and password. Use the eye icon to show or hide the password. Enable Remember me only on a trusted device. Tap Log In or use the keyboard Go action.

3. Continue with Google

Instructions: Tap Continue with Google, choose the Google account, approve the requested sign-in access, and return to RETUOR. The profile is created or matched to the authenticated account.

4. Reset a forgotten password

Instructions: Enter the account email first, then tap Forgot password? Open the reset email, follow its link, create the new password, and return to Login.

5. Complete and edit the rider profile

Path: Profile > Edit Profile.

Instructions: Upload profile and cover photos, then position or crop each image. Enter rider name and unique username, write a short bio, select city and state as the public home area, add favorite roads or routes, and save from the fixed action bar. Manage emergency contacts and decide whether confirmed friends can view them.

Privacy note: Use a general home area, not a street address. Emergency-contact data is sensitive and is only appropriate for trusted people.

6. Understand permissions and disclosures

Instructions: Approve precise location when using maps, nearby discovery, route recording, navigation, live location, or GPS game check-ins. Approve background location only when RETUOR explains why a route or live session needs to continue with the screen off. Approve camera or photo-library access when adding media or required game proof. Approve notifications for invitations, chats, and activity updates.

7. Learn the Home screen

Instructions: Review the greeting and quick actions. Scroll through nearby rides and events, popular rides, best routes, upcoming events, friends on the road, Community, and today’s weather. Tap any card to open it. Tapping an already-selected bottom tab scrolls its screen toward the top.

8. Configure Quick Access

Path: Settings > Tools > Customize Quick Access.

Instructions: Turn Home Quick Actions on or off. Premium members can open Customize Quick Access, select four shortcuts, drag them into the preferred order, and save. Use the floating control on Home to launch them.

Part 2 — Find, map, search, and notifications

9. Use Explore

Instructions: Open Explore. Tap Layers, enable the desired content types, including specific game types when needed, and apply. Move or zoom the map to change the search area. Tap a pin for a summary and tap the callout to open details. Switch to List to compare cards; switch back to Map without losing the active layers or visible region.

10. Use the center Find menu

Instructions: Open the center control, switch it to Find if it currently says Create, and choose Rides, Routes, Events, Cool Stops, Backpackers, or Posts. Rides, Events, and Cool Stops open focused Explore maps; Routes opens route browsing; Backpackers and Posts open their feeds.

Instructions: Open Search, enter a rider name, username, or content keyword, and press the arrow or keyboard Search action. Review grouped results under Riders, Rides, Routes, Events, Clubs, and Cool Stops. Tap a result to open its details.

12. Notifications

Instructions: Tap the bell. Unread items appear first. Tap one to mark it read and open the referenced ride, event, message, game, or rider. Use Notification Preferences to control eligible push categories. Device notification access must also remain enabled in the phone’s settings.

13. Weather

Instructions: Open the Home weather section or a weather action near a ride, event, or location. Review conditions for the selected coordinates and source label. Refresh when planning near departure time.

14. Dealers, repair shops, and verified businesses

Instructions: In Explore Layers, enable Dealers or Repair Shops. Open a business pin and details. An eligible owner can claim the business, submit verification through the billing handoff, and—after approval—edit business information. A verified owner can cancel verification from the business controls when available.

Part 3 — Rides

15. Find and browse rides

Instructions: Use Find > Rides or Explore > Layers > Rides. Move the map or use List mode. Open a card or pin to see the full ride.

16. Understand Ride Details

Instructions: Review the cover, name, visibility, status, description, date, summary, meet time, distance, difficulty, and available spots. Check Meetup Location and weather. Open the host or rider list. Verify accepted bike styles, notes, recurrence, and every stop and waypoint. Use the action area for Join, Leave, Favorite, Feed, Chat, Navigate, Download Route, Share, and eligible host controls.

17. Join, leave, and favorite a ride

Instructions: Tap Join Ride on an eligible scheduled ride. If prompted, confirm the bike or participation details. Joined riders gain access to eligible feed, chat, navigation, and game features. Tap Leave to withdraw. Favorite saves the ride without joining; tap again to remove it.

18. My Rides

Path: Profile > Rides or Menu > My Rides.

Instructions: Switch between upcoming and past when available, then use All, Hosting, Joined, and Archived filters. Open a ride to manage or participate.

19. Create or edit a ride — Basics

Path: Center Create > Ride.

Instructions: Choose Urban, Scenic, Adventure, Charity, Stunt, or Games. Enter a required name up to 60 characters and an optional description up to 300 characters. Set the start date and meet time. For repeating rides, enable recurrence and configure weekly or monthly interval, weekdays, date, or ordinal pattern.

For a Games ride, choose Poker Run, Scavenger Hunt, or Check the Point. Poker Runs require at least five locations. Hunts require an end time. You can load or save a game template, require ordered completion or new-camera proof, and add, remove, and map each item/checkpoint with a clue or safe-stop instruction.

20. Create or edit a ride — Route

Instructions: Choose GPX Import, a saved or Ride Later route, or manual entry. Select the exact meetup location. Add at least one destination and no more than ten total route points. Mark intentional destinations as stops and choose all applicable categories such as fuel, food, drinks, or photo opportunity. Use waypoints only to shape the road. Tap a point name to rename it, drag to reorder it, remove incorrect points, or convert between Stop and Waypoint.

21. Create or edit a ride — Settings, access, and review

Instructions: Choose Beginner, Moderate, or Advanced difficulty. Select every welcomed bike type. Optionally upload, position, and zoom a cover image. Choose visibility:

For Club Only, select the club. Set an optional rider limit. For eligible Friends Only rides, decide whether riders may invite others. Add operational host notes. On Review, verify all details and route points. Use Save Draft, Create Ride, or Update Ride. When updating, choose the available option to notify existing riders.

22. Host ride controls

Instructions: From your Ride Details action menu, edit or clone the ride, invite followers, lock or reopen joining, and unlock the route at the appropriate time. When finished, mark the ride complete; recurring rides may create the next occurrence. Cancel when the ride will not happen, archive it when it should leave active lists, or delete only when permanent removal is intended.

23. Rider roster and emergency information

Instructions: Tap Riders Joined to open the full paginated list. Open a rider profile as needed. Emergency contacts appear only when the rider has enabled the allowed visibility and the relationship qualifies.

24. Ride Feed, photos, and chat

Instructions: Open Feed from Ride Details. Add text or up to five photos. Public ride posts may appear in Community; restricted ride content stays with eligible riders. Like, comment, reply, share, edit your own text, or delete your own content. Open Ride Chat from the ride or Messages > Ride Chats. Send messages only to coordinate the activity; opening the chat updates unread status.

25. Share a ride

Instructions: Tap Share. Choose an available destination such as Community, an eligible club, or the phone share sheet. Add context when sharing into a feed. Recipients with RETUOR can open the ride deep link.

Part 4 — Routes and navigation

26. Browse routes

Instructions: Open Find > Routes. Switch Map or List. Search and filter by All, Following, Ride Later, Routes Ridden, or My Routes; sort recent or A–Z where offered. Open a route to inspect its creator, privacy, category, difficulty, distance, route flow, ratings, and history.

27. Plan a route — Details and method

Path: Center Create > Route.

Instructions: Add a name and description, then select Public, Followers, or Private visibility. Choose a build method:

28. Generate a Retuor route

Instructions: Choose distance or duration, enter a target from 5 to 5,000, choose Balanced, Curvy, Scenic, or Highway, and set the curve level. Optionally add a via location and paved-road preference. Generate, inspect the proposed path, then edit the start, stops, and waypoints before saving.

29. Manually build or edit route flow

Instructions: Choose and name the exact start. Add intentional stops with categories and pass-through waypoints. Rename, drag to reorder, remove, or convert points. Preview the road path, estimated distance, and duration. Save after verifying the complete flow.

30. Import or export GPX

Instructions: In Plan Route choose GPX Import, select a GPX file from the device, and review the generated points and path before saving. When Export is offered on a route, use it to create a standard GPX file for another compatible app or device.

31. Auto-track a route

Instructions: Select Auto Tracking, review the location disclosure, grant the required foreground and background access, and begin only when safely ready. RETUOR records the actual path, time, distance, and available elevation data. Stop the session when parked, review the recorded route, name and edit it, then save.

32. Route details, ratings, comments, and creator

Instructions: Open a route. Use Ride Later to save or unsave it. Follow or unfollow the creator. Add a star rating and optional review after meaningful experience with the route. Read other reviews and add eligible comments. Owners can edit or delete their route.

33. Route riding history and leaderboard

Instructions: Open Route History. Switch between the overall leaderboard and Mine. Review completion distance, duration, lap time, average speed, date, rider, and selected bike when present.

34. Download and manage offline routes

Instructions: On Route Details tap Download Route. In Settings > Navigation, enable automatic download for joined ride routes if desired, inspect downloaded-route storage, or clear all downloads. Download before leaving reliable service; offline data can become stale after a host edits a route.

35. Navigate with RETUOR

Instructions: From a route, ride, event, game, Cool Stop, historical marker, club, or business, tap Navigate or Directions. If a route begins elsewhere, choose navigation to the start when offered. Choose a bike when prompted. Start guidance while parked. Follow the route points and end the session at completion; recorded miles are added to the chosen bike and RETUOR mileage.

36. Navigation preferences and Route Remix

Path: Settings > Navigation.

Instructions: Choose RETUOR navigation or the phone’s map app. For RETUOR, Premium members can set the default Route Remix level—New Rider, Easy, Advanced, or Expert—and defaults for avoiding highways, showing unpaved road labels, paved roads only, construction alerts, and live traffic. Review settings before every safety-sensitive trip.

Part 5 — Events

37. Find and attend events

Instructions: Use Find > Events or Explore Layers. Open Event Details and review type, visibility, description, date, start and end time, admission, venue, map, weather, organizer, attendees, capacity, recurrence, website, linked ride, and games. Tap Attend to RSVP; use Can’t Go or leave attendance if plans change. Favorite saves it separately.

38. My Events

Instructions: Open My Events and filter hosted, attending, past, or archived events. Tap any event to participate or manage it.

39. Create or edit an event — Details

Path: Center Create > Event.

Instructions: Choose the event category, such as Bike Night, Rally, Campout, or Vendor Event. Enter the name and description. Search the map, use a saved Cool Stop, or select the exact venue. Set start date/time and optional end time. For a repeating event, configure weekly or monthly recurrence.

40. Create or edit an event — Options, extras, and review

Instructions: Choose Public, Friends, Club, or Invite visibility. Club events require a club; invite-only events notify only invitees. Set optional capacity, Free or Paid admission and advertised USD amount, website, guest permission, and cover image. Attach one or more supported event games and optionally link a ride you host, joined, or found publicly. Review everything, then create or update.

41. Host event controls

Instructions: From your Event Details, edit or clone, invite followers, open attendees, manage attached games, and use event Feed or Chat. Cancel if it will not occur, archive after it is no longer active, or delete only when permanent removal is appropriate.

42. Event Feed and Event Chat

Instructions: Open Feed to publish event-specific text and photos and interact through likes and comments. Public event posts may also appear in Community; restricted posts remain with eligible attendees. Open Event Chat from Event Details or Messages > Event Chats for coordination.

Part 6 — Community and riders

43. Community Feed

Instructions: Tap Community and choose Community Feed. Scroll posts, open attachments, like posts and comments, add comments, and share. Use the Friends filter when available. Three-dot controls let an author edit text or delete owned content.

44. Create a post

Path: Center Create > Post, or use the Community composer.

Instructions: Write text, add photos, or attach one ride, event, route, bike, club, Cool Stop, historical marker, or rider. Community posts support up to five photos; Backpackers posts support up to two. Review the audience and publish.

45. Share posts and RETUOR content

Instructions: Tap Share on an eligible post or detail page. Choose Community, Backpackers when appropriate, an eligible club, or external sharing. A reshare preserves the original source while allowing your context.

46. Public rider profiles

Instructions: Tap a rider avatar or search result. Review their bio, general home area, bikes they share, rides, routes, events, Cool Stops, achievements, followers, and following as allowed. Use available actions to follow, unfollow, message, share the rider, report, or block.

47. Follow, friends, and invitations

Instructions: Follow a rider from their profile. Mutual follows form the Friends relationship displayed in the Friends list. Search the list to find a rider. Follow and unfollow are separate from joining rides, events, or clubs.

48. Friends on the Road

Instructions: When eligible friends opt into sharing an active ride location, Home shows Friends on the Road. Open it for the live map and select a friend. Treat locations as private, time-sensitive safety data.

49. Direct messages

Instructions: Open Messages > Private. Tap New Conversation, search for a rider, select them, and send the first message. Existing rows show the latest message and unread count. Open a conversation to mark it read and send more messages. Listing conversations may include a linked Kickstand item.

50. Ride, event, and Kickstand chats

Instructions: In Messages, switch between Private, Kickstand, Ride Chats, and Event Chats when available. Only eligible participants see activity chats. Open a row, review the title and linked context, and send the message.

51. Backpackers

Instructions: Community > Backpackers. Read and acknowledge the safety notice. Opt in as looking for a ride, offering a seat, or both; opt out at any time. Browse seeker and provider profiles. Open a profile, or tap Offer a Ride or Request a Ride to begin a private conversation. Publish Backpackers text and up to two photos, then like and comment normally.

52. Block and unblock riders

Instructions: From an eligible rider or content menu, choose Block and confirm. Go to Settings or Profile > Blocked Users to review the list and unblock someone. Blocking changes eligible social visibility and interaction; report separately if moderation review is needed.

Part 7 — Clubs

53. Discover, join, and leave clubs

Instructions: Open Clubs. Review invitations, joined clubs, and discoverable clubs; location can help sort nearby results. Open a Club Space. Join a public eligible club or respond Accept or Decline to an invitation. Use Leave Club when you no longer want membership.

54. Use Club Space and Club Feeds

Instructions: Club Space contains the club identity, feed, members, rides, events, settings, and share tools allowed by your role. Members can create posts with text and images, share eligible posts, rides, events, routes, Cool Stops, or riders, and interact. Owners can post as the club and optionally cross-post to Community. Community > Club Feeds combines posts from all joined clubs.

55. Create and customize a club

Instructions: From Clubs, choose Create Club. Enter name, description, visibility, and general location. Add avatar and cover images and adjust their position. Select the club color and light or dark theme. Decide whether members may create events or invite riders, then save.

56. Manage club membership and invitations

Instructions: As owner, search eligible invite candidates and invite one rider, or bulk invite followers, following, or friends. Review the member list and remove a member when necessary. Invite all club members to a club ride or event using its club invitation action.

57. Club-only rides and events

Instructions: In a ride or event builder, choose Club visibility and select the club. The item becomes discoverable to active members and can appear in club content. When creating an event as a member, the owner’s Allow member events setting must permit it.

58. Moderate club content

Instructions: Owners can remove club posts and member content controls appear according to ownership and role. Confirm before removal and use member removal only when necessary.

Part 8 — Garage and maintenance

59. Garage overview

Instructions: Open Profile > Garage. Review every bike and summary metrics. Tap a bike for its mileage KPIs, photos, documents, maintenance, ownership data, notes, and owner-only actions.

60. Add or edit a bike

Instructions: Tap Add Bike. Optionally enter a VIN for available factory lookup. Choose bike type, nickname, manufacturer, model, year, and color. Enter current mileage and purchase date, then add engine size, horsepower, and curb weight if needed. Upload up to two photos and select the primary image. Choose whether this is the primary bike—your first bike becomes primary automatically—and add private notes. Continue through each section and tap Add or Update Bike.

61. Bike details, mileage, and documents

Instructions: Open a bike. Review RETUOR miles and recorded mileage, bike specifications, purchase details, images, insurance, registration, and other documents. Add or update records with their dates and details. Only the owner can edit; a shared bike profile is read-only.

62. Maintenance schedule

Instructions: Bike Details > Maintenance Schedule. Review upcoming items and guidance. Open an item to set service type, date or mileage interval, completion date and mileage, cost, and notes. Use Add Item for a new reminder and save changes.

63. Fuel and service history

Instructions: Where available in Bike Details, add a fuel log with mileage, gallons, price, and related notes; review efficiency over time. Maintenance completions and recorded rides form the service and ride timeline.

64. Delete a bike

Instructions: From an owned Bike Details menu, choose Delete and read the confirmation. Confirm only when the record and its dependent history should be removed.

Part 9 — Cool Stops, historical markers, and Kickstand

65. Browse Cool Stops

Instructions: Use Find > Cool Stops or Profile/Menu > Cool Stops. Switch map or list as available and filter All, Recent, or A–Z. Open a place for description, address, image, ratings/reviews, map, navigation, sharing, creator, and owner-only edit controls.

66. Add or edit a Cool Stop

Path: Center Create > Cool Stop.

Instructions: Enter a clear name and description, choose its stop type and categories, select the exact location or address, and add an image when available. Review the map position and save. Owners can reopen Edit to correct details or delete the stop.

67. Review a Cool Stop

Instructions: Open the stop, choose the rating control, add an honest review based on a real visit, and submit. Use Share to Community, a club, or externally.

68. Historical markers

Instructions: Open Historical Places or enable Historical Markers in Explore. Switch Map or List, open a marker, read its story and location, mark available engagement such as visited or favorite when shown, share it, or navigate there.

69. Browse Kickstand: Buy & Sell

Instructions: Community > Kickstand: Buy & Sell. Search listings, filter Motorcycle, Parts, Gear, Accessories, or Other, and use the map/list scope when available. Open a listing to review title, description, price, location, images, seller, status, and expiration.

70. Contact a Kickstand seller

Instructions: On a listing, tap the contact/message action. RETUOR opens or creates a private conversation linked to the listing. Ask focused questions and arrange inspection and payment safely outside the app’s listing record.

71. Create or manage a Kickstand listing

Instructions: Premium members tap Sell or Create Listing. Choose category; enter title, complete description, price, city and state, exact map area, and images. Publish and review the listing. From My Listings or the owned details page, edit details, mark the item sold where offered, or delete it. Listings expire, so recreate or update only if the item remains available.

Part 10 — Games and competitions

72. Find games

Instructions: Explore > Layers > Games, then optionally select Poker Run, Scavenger Hunt, Check the Point, Challenge, Slow Race, or Last Man Standing family filters. Tap a game pin, then open the attached ride or event. Access depends on ride/event visibility and participation.

73. Poker Run — rider workflow

Instructions: Join the associated ride, open Poker Run Details, and register. If payment is required, wait for the host to confirm Paid or Waived. After the host starts the game, travel safely to each checkpoint. While stopped and inside its allowed GPS radius, draw one digital card. Draw host-granted bonus cards when available. Review your cards, best five-card hand, progress, and leaderboard.

Offline behavior: RETUOR can prepare an active Poker Run for offline play. Eligible draws are queued locally and synchronize when connectivity returns. Keep the app’s active-session notification available, do not clear app data, and verify pending sync before assuming a result is final.

74. Poker Run — host workflow

Instructions: Open the game’s Payment Check-Ins. Mark each participant Paid or Waived and grant the permitted number of bonus cards. Start the game only when setup and checkpoints are ready. Monitor participants and leaderboard. Use Reset Game only when the current progress truly must be cleared.

75. Scavenger Hunt — rider workflow

Instructions: Open the hunt and tap Participate. After the host starts it, follow the item order when required. Read each clue and safe-stop instruction. At the location, stop safely, tap Found/Check In, allow GPS, and take a new photo when required. Review awarded points, completion status, and leaderboard before the end time.

76. Check the Point

Instructions: Participate from the game details. After the start, visit each GPS checkpoint, safely stop within its radius, and check in. Follow required order and photo rules. Complete every point before the end time.

77. Scavenger/Check the Point — host workflow

Instructions: Configure checkpoints, names, clues, map locations, points, ordering, proof requirement, radius, and end time in the Games ride builder. Start only when participants and locations are ready. Monitor results and end the hunt when needed. Reset only after confirming progress should be erased.

78. Slow Race

Rider: Open the event’s Slow Race, join registration, or leave before the bracket is locked. Review the single- or double-elimination bracket and current match.

Host: Remove ineligible participants before starting, then start to lock and generate the bracket. After each match, select and confirm the winner; the bracket advances automatically. Continue through finals.

The shared competition workflow supports Last Man Standing, Longest Stoppie, Keg Push, The Plank, Barrel Race, and Weenie Bite when configured by the event.

Rider: Open the event game, review the host’s rules, join while registration is open, and leave before start if necessary.

Host: Verify participants and the safe competition area, start the game to close registration, and select the final winner. Confirm before submitting because the result completes the competition.

80. Treasure Hunt host controls

Instructions: In the attached event game, publish the initial clue and add later clues as the game progresses. Edit or delete an incorrect clue. At completion, select and confirm the winning rider.

81. Challenges and leaderboards

Instructions: Open Games/Challenges from the menu or eligible feature collection. Join an active challenge, review its category, metric, target, and progress, and update or earn progress according to its rules. Open leaderboards and change scope or period, such as overall and available weekly, monthly, friends, local, state, or country views.

82. Achievements

Path: Profile > Achievements.

Instructions: Review total earned achievements and points. Browse earned and locked badges. Tap a badge for requirements, points, status, and earned date.

Part 11 — Settings, membership, privacy, and account lifecycle

83. Appearance settings

Path: Profile/Menu > Settings > Appearance.

Instructions: Choose Dark or Light theme. In Dark mode, choose an accent color for buttons, links, selections, and controls. Set maps to Follow Theme, Day, or Night.

84. Communication preferences

Instructions: Open Settings > Communication or Notification Preferences. Enable or disable the available push categories. System-level notification permission can override in-app choices. Email notification preference may not be available in the current build.

85. Help and guided tours

Instructions: Settings > Help. Search a screen or feature, choose a topic, and read How It Works. Tap Take This Tour to open the relevant screen and display guided targets. Some help and tours require Premium, and detail tours may require an accessible ride, event, route, or bike.

86. Premium Rider Membership

Instructions: When a locked action displays the Premium prompt, review membership benefits and pricing, continue to the secure purchase handoff, and return to RETUOR after success. Settings/Profile shows current membership status and eligible management actions. Use the cancellation handoff when you intend to stop renewal; access follows the membership terms and billing status.

Instructions: Settings shows installed app version and software information. Open Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and other legal links. Use Contact Support or the RETUOR website for assistance. Include the app version and a concise problem description, but never send a password.

88. Sign out

Instructions: Profile/Menu > Log Out. Confirm. If the device is shared, also disable Remember Me at the next login and verify that private notifications are no longer displayed.

89. Delete the account

Instructions: Open the account deletion option in Settings or use the public RETUOR deletion page when unable to access the app. Read what will be removed or retained for legal reasons, submit the request, and complete any identity confirmation. Account deletion is not the same as canceling Premium; follow the displayed billing instructions as well.

Part 12 — Advanced operational guidance

90. Visibility and audience checklist

Before publishing any ride, event, route, post, club, or live location:

  1. Confirm who should see it: public, followers/friends, club, invitees, or private.
  2. Remove street-address, phone, document, or emergency information from public text and images.
  3. Confirm every attached item has compatible visibility. A public post does not make a private ride accessible.
  4. For club content, confirm the club and whether cross-posting to Community is enabled.
  5. For live locations, stop sharing when the ride or safety need ends.

91. Host preflight checklist

Before a ride or event goes live:

  1. Verify date, time zone, duration, venue or meetup pin, and weather plan.
  2. Test every route point and game checkpoint for legal, safe access.
  3. State pace, difficulty, accepted bikes, fuel range, equipment, cost, and capacity.
  4. Select the correct audience and club.
  5. Confirm linked ride, event, games, recurrence, and end times.
  6. Publish, inspect the public/participant view, and send invitations.
  7. Use Feed for official durable updates and Chat for coordination.

During an offline Poker Run, do not reinstall the app or clear storage. When service returns, open RETUOR and verify pending draws synchronize. Offline data does not replace current road closures, signs, or host instructions.
